No pool to swim? 🤔 No problem! The pool was closed for almost two weeks (the last two weeks of December) 😐 so, plan B into action! …the mountain! 👉🏼 ⛰👈🏼 😃👍🏼 I have been going to Bump and grind now and I’m LOVING it! No, I’m not running it like I used to…not yet. I only run it on my way down and let me tell you! It feels pretty amazing to run this trail! I had forgotten how good it feels! I want to be the queen of the Mountain 👑!!

I don’t bring a cell phone or any other electronic devices with me when I come here. (Except the day I took this picture. I saw 3 big horns and realize I didn’t have a camera with me 😬 so I took my phone with me the next day hoping to see them again and I did!)
I feel I enjoy my trail runs more when I don’t have a cell phone with me. It is only me, myself and nature! No music, no cell phone distractions, no recording my runs, no answering calls, no worries, just living the moment and aware of the quietness and how my body feels every time my feet hit the ground.
I started going to bump and grind for 4 days straight. My plan was to rest the following day but then I received a text from my sister:
So we went! While going up the bump and grind, my sister was like “what is wrong with you!? ” Me: (breathing heavily) “nothing, I am good! ( I wasn’t really) Anyway, afte we were done, I wasn’t planning to go again the next day, but little did I know, I was about the get another text message from a friend from school:
I was hoping she would not say “tomorrow” but when she asked: “Start tomorrow morning?” My legs were saying to me: “no please no!”😩 But I said yes anyway 🙂👍🏼 I set the alarm, I woke up, she didn’t…lol. I was already ready to go so I went (a bit later) She then texted me later that day:
So we went and yes, I ended up going 7 days straight but really, when it comes to working out with my sisters and/or friends, I am always available. I might be slower, but I can still make it happen.
Ok, the training will be trail runs (and swimming…!) 🙂👍🏼 The goal? Be able to RUN the bump and grind the whole way non-stop and once this is accomplished, then I will start running flat surfaces…then the bike training will follow… but it is official, the training has started!
This is the usual route I take. It is about 1,169ft in elevation and the distance is about 4.5 miles.
